Project AirTag is an independently maintained, non-commercial-style travel and documentation archive. It tells the story of AirTags that are passed from person to person. The site contains a map, location pings, route visualisations, selected photographs, stories, dates and related editorial material. It is not an offer to sell, rent, track or locate people, vehicles or devices in real time.

The presentation is editorial and documentary. Locations and timelines can be incomplete, delayed, approximate or intentionally reduced for privacy reasons. The public archive must not be used for navigation, emergency purposes, security decisions, locating a person, identifying a residence or reconstructing anyone’s routine.

3. Editorial care and availability

The operator prepares the content with care and updates it whenever practical. However, Project AirTag makes no promise that every entry is complete, current, uninterrupted, accurate or suitable for a particular purpose. Technical failures, hosting maintenance, map-provider availability, browser restrictions, deleted material or privacy edits can affect what is shown.

Private pings are deliberately altered before they appear publicly. A displayed approximate area is therefore not an exact position and must not be interpreted as one. A missing country, route, photo, story or time does not imply that an event did not happen; it may simply not have been published.

4. Copyright, photographs and text

Unless a different rights holder is indicated or supplied on request, the structure of this website, its interface, project logo, original text, route presentation, selection and arrangement of archive material are protected by copyright and related rights. All rights are reserved by the respective rights holders.

Photographs, stories and other material may originate from the operator, participating travellers or other contributors. They are published to document the project, not to grant a blanket licence for copying, reposting, training, commercial use, modification, extraction, mirroring, redistribution or publication on other platforms.

Because naming photographers, contributors or rights holders beside every image can reveal private identities, relationships, locations or travel histories, image credits and copyright information are not published as a public catalogue. Credit and rights information can be requested from the operator where available. Please include the page URL, moment title, image description or screenshot with your request.

The operator will provide attribution information as far as it is available and compatible with privacy, confidentiality, contractual commitments and the safety of contributors. A credit may be supplied directly rather than displayed publicly. This limitation does not affect a rights holder’s ability to contact the operator about attribution, licensing, removal or correction.

5. Permission requests and removal notices

Any use outside the narrow limits permitted by law requires prior written permission from the relevant rights holder. This includes, in particular, downloading and republishing images, using project text in another publication, embedding the map in a third-party service, reproducing the logo or extracting substantial portions of the archive data.

If you believe that content infringes your copyright, personality rights, privacy, trademark rights or another protected position, contact the operator promptly. State the material concerned, where it appears, your relationship to it, the legal basis of your request and the action you seek. The operator will examine substantiated notices and, where appropriate, correct, credit, limit or remove material. Deliberately false or abusive notices may have legal consequences.

6. External links and map services

Project AirTag may link to external websites or, after consent, load map tiles from external map providers. The operator has no control over future changes to third-party content and does not adopt external content as its own. The respective provider is responsible for its website, service and privacy information. Please report broken or problematic links so they can be reviewed.

7. No monitoring or live-location promise

The archive is based on sporadic recorded pings and editorially maintained information. It is not a continuous tracking interface. The labels “current”, “last known” or similar describe the latest archived point for the relevant AirTag route and do not guarantee that the device, person or object remains at that place. A displayed status may also be private, regionalised, delayed or out of date.

8. Governing framework and contact

This legal notice is intended for the website operated from Germany. Mandatory statutory consumer, copyright, media, data-protection and other legal provisions remain unaffected. If any part of this notice is invalid, the remainder continues to apply to the extent legally possible.
